Being a Future Husband
Being a husband will be enjoyable at times
and discouraging at others. The honest truth, is that work, church, entertainment,
family, life, God, and your wife will all want a slice of your time. A marriage will require work: your family will require time and attention,
you and your wife will desire to have time alone together and with close
friends, work will require a large part of your life as you provide, and your
spiritual health will require things like church, discipleship, serving, and
study, plus you need to take times of rest. But above all else, to be a
husband, you must be grounded, firmly planted and growing, in a relationship
with God, fellow believers,—not a spiritual loner!— and actively engaged
in the Word of God and prayer.
