Institutions that are Cost Effective and Christian Oriented

Institutions that are Cost Effective and Christian Oriented

Are there any organizations out there that are low cost and provide a great education? I know of a few that are solid and Biblical. Liberty Online University, CollegePlus and Seminary Extension.

College Plust is one of the greatest options for low cost degree seekers. It is focused on testing out of general ed, you get your very own life coach, are encouaged to discover your live purpose and begin living it out, and earn your Bachelors degree at your own pace--which is comfortably done for many students in 2 years for an average cost of $15-16,000. Talk about a great deal! To find out more: CollegePlus!

Liberty University has a history of standing for Biblical Truth uncompromisingly and that is something that they continue to do. Their degrees are typically going to run around $30,000 but will incorporate Biblical studies and a Christian worldview. They are also well known for firmly holding to the literal 6-day Creation describd in Genesis 1--this is an area that many universities at best compromise on, but most are completely silent about or even condemn. To find out more:   Liberty University!

Seminary Extension is a Sourthen Baptist ministry program which allows lay ministers, women's ministry leaders, and full-time pastors to earn a certificates for as low at $500-700 and diplomas around $2500. If you are called to minister, this might be an option to help you keep out of debt and get some solid Biblcal training. To find out more: Seminary Extension!

Thought 251: Pride from Ryan's devotional book series Thoughts

Thought 251

Pride

Porn, selfishness, gluttony, moral infidelity, etc…are all tied to pride directly. All sin is tied in some way shape or form to pride. In the very beginning of the Bible, we find Eve partaking of the fruit because she desired to be like God and have more “wisdom.” Satan tempted Eve with the same lie he believed!—that he could be superior to God: that he could be more knowledgeable, wise, or powerful than God. Rebellion is linked to the prideful heart as is every sin. The prideful thoughts of the heart work their way out in a man’s actions and words and earn him the accurate labels of liar, adulterer, murderer, slanderer, fornicator, etc…

If you seem to be constantly battling pride. First, confess your fault to God and perhaps a spiritual friend (it is not required to confess your sin to a friend, but it greatly increases the coming of victory over it [James 5:16]). Second, purpose to remain faithful despite the temptation. Third, memorize Scripture related your specific temptation and quote it when temptation comes. Jesus used this method to send o’ll Satan packing his bags. Fourth, be alert and keep your guard up for fresh or renewed attacks of the battle and repeat the previous steps as needed. Finally, remember to listen for the Holy Spirit to share your victories humbly when appropriate for godly testimony to fellow Christians and unbelievers.

Thought 239: The Desires of Your Heart from Ryan's devotional book series Thoughts

Thought 239

The Desires of Your Heart

“Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give
thee the desires of thine heart.” Psalm 37:4 KJV

I do not believe that this Scripture is referring to your lusts and fleshly passions when it talks about the desires of your heart. If that it what it meant, God would be condoning sin! However, God does place desires in your heart for a reason. One that has really been on my heart for years is a wife: even a little boy I’ve looked forward to getting married and having a family. I don’t see God moving in this area, yet He is working. HE placed that desire in my heart for a reason, and God is never slow about carrying out His promises. As I continue to delight myself in the Lord, spend time in His presence and share His Word, I am sure that His perfect timing will fulfill every desire that is from Him. Any lustful or sinful desire; however, will be cast to the ground for sin cannot dwell in the heart of a person after God. Sin may tempt, but it cannot inhabit a vessel of the Lord for what fellowship has light with darkness, life with death; how does a good tree produce bad fruit?

Pray and then read the whole Psalm 37; as you do so be prepared to learn from the Lord.
