Stress is the tension that is
experienced when one has more tasks expending one’s energy than one has energy
available. Stress can be a good thing at times. For example, stressed out about
having to have another painful cavity can influence one to brush more
thoroughly. On the other hand, overcommitting and going out every night to a
ministry or social activity can easily become stressful. You always feel behind
and can’t catch up on top of the inevitable additional demands of a job and
family. In this second instance, stress becomes bad. It just serves as a
constant reminder that you’re zapped and have committed to more than God wants
you to do.
