Balance
Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing;
but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your
requests be made known unto God.
Phil 4:5-6
(KJV)
Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise:
why shouldest thou destroy thyself? Be not over much wicked, neither be thou
foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time? It is good that thou shouldest
take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not thine hand: for he that
feareth God shall come forth of them all. Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more
than ten mighty men which are in the city.
Eccl 7:16-19 (KJV)
True Fear of the Lord will produce balance,
not extremes. Balance is important. When you’re unbalanced, you lose stability.
If you were a boat, you’d sink! Minister, are you balanced?
I encourage you to take some time and
examine yourself and your schedule before the Lord. What needs to go? Where are
you over committed? Where are you lazy? Where do you need to exercise, take a
walk, or take a break? Where do you need to rest? And where do you need to be
more purposeful? It is only by living a life of seeking the Lord that we can
even hope to make progress in living a truly balanced life.
