Waiting

Have your parents ever told you something that you had to wait for? Maybe it was having your best friend over or a special trip, but you had to wait for a few days….or maybe it was way longer. It is the same way with God. He told Noah to prepare for a flood, even though Noah had no clue what rain even was (i.e. a midst covered the earth to water it prior to the flood, at the flood is when rain first came down from the skies). God told Abraham that he would have a son, but Abraham had to wait for a long while and got impatient and sinned in trying to “speed-it-along” with his wife’s servant. These are just two examples, but do you see a pattern developing here? I am in some “waiting phases” right now, are you? I am waiting for my future wife, for my career, for this book to be done, and for High School to end.

Check out Noah’s story in Genesis 5-9 and think about how long Noah had to wait and work before God did what He said He would.
