Exhortations
Danger: if you’re looking for something, you’ll find it. People are everywhere in groups of people that believe crazy stuff that isn’t true. Make sure you are seeking the Lord, not looking for philosophy.
Develop balance.
Make sure to practice preparation—haste
leads to poverty as surely as diligence to wealth (ie contentment, true prosperity)~look
at the Proverbs.
Paul, when heading to Jerusalem, said
that he ahd faithfully served the Lord with great humility & with tears, he
was severely tested; yet he had not hesitated to preach anything that would be
helpful as he taught publicly from house to house.
Control money, don’t let the love of
it control you.
Scripture warns us to flee sexual
temptation; not walk into situations where we know there will be temptation and
just resist.
All of my own energies (all my heart,
all my mind, all my soul, and all my strength) are to be spent on God. Then,
God gives me His Holy Spirit empowerment to love and serve others as if they
were myself.
The core of the false teaching of
seeker friendliness is putting other people and their needs ahead of a personal
relationship with God. Thus, all that is built is programs and outreaches
based on needs—another social gospel—not God’s Kingdom. God’s Kingdom is
one that begins in the heart of a man and then works itself into His life,
transforming Him into a new creation as the seed of Almighty God’s Spirit
blooms and grows as it is fed with the living nutrients and water of Jesus
Christ (the Word).
It is not for us, O Lord, to build
our own name, but to Faithfully serve you whether in obscurity or honor,
reproach or prominence, hardship or ease.
The Great Commission simply means go and teach, individuals and
nations, all that Jesus commands and baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit (Matthew 28:19-20).
May you be a man of character—a
vessel of honor.
Follow the guidance of the Holy
Spirit.
Continue to stir up the gift of God
that is in you and keep your spiritual fervor serving the Lord.
