Thought 319
The Power of Time
Management
Opening
thought to consider: The more time that you
spend with God, the more you become like Him; but the same is true with
friendships, TV, books, and even the ministry(s) that you are involved in.
Do
you manage your time well? Are you a responsible Steward? A steward is simply, as my pastor says, a manager. We understand what a manager
does in a corporation, and in the same way God wants men to be faithful stewards
of their families, money, resources. A young woman or young man, who is
unmarried is to be a good steward, not only of her money, but in taking time to
honor her father and mother, to lend a hand when possible, and simply be a
virtuous manager of her life. God has anointed you to be one of His stewards.
The historical role of a steward also gives
us a hint into what we are to do as God’s stewards. Historically, a steward’s
job was to take care of things while the king or owner was away. Wow! We are
called to be, essentially, the ‘right hand’ men and women of God!—proclaiming His words to a world that
is separated from Him because of sin; representing
our King in the decisions we make, serving
others as they were our Master, Jesus. O Lord, may we humbly labor to fulfill
your call to Stewardship.
“Moreover it is
required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”
1 Corinthians 4:2 KJV
