THEY DON’T EAT IT, THEY
SUCK IT
Maybe you’re trying to guess what the title
phrase means . . . well, it’s a spider! Spiders suck the blood and other liquids
out of the insects they catch; in the similar way the Devil wants to “suck the
blood” out of you. The Devil wants to do this because he understands Leviticus
17:11:
“For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have
given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is
the blood that makes atonement for the soul.” NKJV
What the spider does in the natural, Satan
desires to do in the spiritual. Satan loves it when He can get you “down in the
pits” and “halting between to opinions” because then Stan has discouraged you
and, at least momentarily, paralyzed you. Satan desires to destroy you and he
will do everything he can to suck the life-giving water of Christ right out of
you. He wants to separate you from your source, the Lord. But do not be afraid,
for the Lord is in control. Satan is a weakling compared to our mighty God. And
while, sin and Satan might have a little while to frolic and deceive, God’s Kingdom
will always Stand—long after Satan’s is destroyed.
Satan’s
Kingdom is not eternal, God’s is.
Another Angle
Did you catch that phrase “life . . . is in
the blood” in Leviticus 17:11? Scientists have “discovered” that without blood
oxygen wouldn’t get to our bodies and our flesh would die. God’s Word is true whether
or not modern science has proof for it. God’s We live by faith, not by sight (2
Corinthians 5:7). God’s Remnant, amidst a world of intellectual fact finders,
are a people of Faith.
I love how God’s word has proclaimed such
truths for so long; yet there has been no human “verification.” Why were leeches
used for medicinal purposes and bleeding in the 18th century? This
verse refutes that. Even medical personnel need to know what this Book (the
Bible) says about medicine, because IT is never wrong.
