Thought 330: Wisdom--God gives generously from Ryan's devotional book series Thoughts

Thought 330

Wisdom—God gives generously

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5 KJV

I remember a time when I asked God for wisdom after a touching devotion at JTT (Junior Training Trails—a leadership training camp for Royal Rangers). I prayed to God for wisdom and in the midst of that prayer, God spoke to my heart. He gave me a personal promise that is both an encouragement at times and a struggle to believe at others (kind of like Abraham, I guess). The point is that I knew that I needed wisdom and I asked for it, and in the middle of my communication with God, He spoke. I didn’t ask Him to speak, yet He spoke in His small, still voice to my heart.

James 1:5 is a promise that you can receive wisdom from God as well. He will direct you in the way that you should go (Isaiah 48:17). God is a big God and He can come up with unique ways to get His point across to you, so don’t worry; just have Faith in Him and ask Him for the wisdom that you need.
