and Sword of God

"Let no man despise thy youth;
but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity,
in spirit, in faith, in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12 KJV
This month I'm focusing on The Word. The Word is the Word of God (the Bible). The Bible should be the most important book in a Christian's life. With History and Wisdom we can learn from the people of the Bible by their wrong or right actions. In it we can see how life begins and pieces of how it ends. We should spread The Word! but there's a specific way to do it. You can't just present it to others so that they blow it off and The Word isn't a club to beat them with....the Bible says it's a sword and shield.

"Every word of God is
pure: he is a
shield unto them that put their
trust in him." Proverbs 30:5 KJV
"As for God, his way is
perfect: the word of the Lord is tried:
he is a buckler to all those that trust in
him." Psalm 18:30 KJV
These
verses show that it is a shield when the Enemy comes or if someone comes
to pull you off the path of righteousness:
"For the word of God is quick,
and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the
dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a
discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
Hebrews 4:12 KJV
"And take the helmet of
salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God" Ephesians 6:17
KJV
These verses explain The Word is also a sword for when the enemy comes. This isn't for when someone comes to pull you from your faith, nor do you use it to attack only to defend.
